What are you passionate about?

We need champions to run with a number of initiatives. You don’t need to be an expert on these to be a champion, so if you are keen on becoming involved in any of the following, then please let us know:

  • Game sightings, activities & research
  • Bird sightings, activities and research
  • Wetland monitoring and rehabilitation
  • River and stream health
  • Alien plant removal
  • Local flora

What’s in it for you?

Conservancies are voluntary organizations and therefore what you put in is what you get out! We are blessed to live in a profoundly beautiful area but without being melodramatic, there will always be threats to it, which will need to be addressed. In addition, many formal institutions in South Africa lack capacity. This means that the importance of civil society organizations (such as conservancies) is of increasing importance. In short, getting involved is the right thing to do if you are concerned about the environment in our area.

How can you get involved?

We are currently recruiting members. In addition, we have identified a number of activities that we need enthusiastic people to take on. This can be within the committee or external to it. As a new Conservancy we are effectively starting with a blank sheet so it is a good time to become involved to shape things at this early stage. Please feel free to contact our secretary, Penny Letley or any of the committee members if you would like more information.
